What's Included
M & S Broadway now offers instrumental music instruction as part of the conservatory. Students can learn violin and the djembe drum — building musicianship, rhythm, and a deeper connection to the performing arts.
Our violin program introduces students to the beauty and discipline of string music. From proper bow technique and posture to reading music and performing in ensemble, students develop a lifelong musical skill that complements everything they do on stage.
The djembe is one of the world's most expressive percussion instruments. Our djembe program teaches students African rhythmic traditions, hand technique, and ensemble drumming — building a powerful sense of rhythm, cultural appreciation, and musical confidence that carries into every performance.
Why Instruments Matter
"Learning an instrument makes every performer better — it deepens musicality, sharpens focus, and builds a connection to music that transforms how students perform on stage."
Violin and djembe drum are available as part of the Broadway Conservatory program for all ages.

"This combination of performing arts and creative technology helps students build confidence, creativity, and real-world skills in both performance and digital media."
At M & S Broadway, creativity doesn't stop when the music ends. Our visual arts and set design programs give students a full creative education — developing skills that complement everything they do on stage.
Students explore painting, drawing, and mixed-media projects that spark imagination and develop visual storytelling skills. Art class is not just a break from the stage — it's an extension of it. Young performers learn to see the world through an artist's eye, which makes them stronger, more expressive performers.
Every great show starts with a great set. Our students don't just perform on the stage — they help build it. From sketching concepts to constructing and painting the actual sets used in our productions, students gain real hands-on experience in stagecraft, spatial design, and creative problem-solving as a team.
Why It Matters
"A complete performer understands every element of the stage — the lights, the sets, the costumes, and the art behind it all."
That's why we include visual arts and set design in every program. It makes better performers and more well-rounded young people.
