Why Instruments Matter

Beyond the Stage

Art Classes & Set Design

At M & S Broadway, creativity doesn't stop when the music ends. Our visual arts and set design programs give students a full creative education — developing skills that complement everything they do on stage.

Art classes for youth
Visual Arts

Art Classes

Students explore painting, drawing, and mixed-media projects that spark imagination and develop visual storytelling skills. Art class is not just a break from the stage — it's an extension of it. Young performers learn to see the world through an artist's eye, which makes them stronger, more expressive performers.

  • Painting & drawing fundamentals
  • Mixed-media & creative projects
  • Visual storytelling & expression
  • All ages and skill levels welcome
Set design and stage construction
Stagecraft

Set Design

Every great show starts with a great set. Our students don't just perform on the stage — they help build it. From sketching concepts to constructing and painting the actual sets used in our productions, students gain real hands-on experience in stagecraft, spatial design, and creative problem-solving as a team.

  • Concept sketching & design planning
  • Set construction & painting
  • Real sets used in live productions
  • Teamwork, creativity & problem-solving

Why It Matters

"A complete performer understands every element of the stage — the lights, the sets, the costumes, and the art behind it all."

That's why we include visual arts and set design in every program. It makes better performers and more well-rounded young people.
